Elephant Bells, Set of 6, Royal Blue

ELPRB
Set of 6 graduated solid brass bells with raised floral designs. The upper half of each bell is highlighted by cloisonn-like coloring. Swing the bells in gentle circles to make the Clapper roll over the multiple tines. Each bell provides a soft sustained chime-like sound. The bells are cast in factories in a small town called Jalesar. This is a town in a northern state of India, called Uttar Pradesh; an area well known for brass work. The cloisonn-like coloring is done in another town situated close by, called Moradabad. This beautiful set of bells can be used to decorate a shelf or to present as a gift. If you are wondering what Elephant Bells are for, they can serve a number of purposes. These heavy brass bells provide a pleasing sound and help to decorate the elephants as they sway in the many colorful festival processions in India. When not on parade, the bells are hung about the elephant's necks so the Mahouts can locate their animals while they are out in the jungles (and you thought it would be hard to lose an elephant). The Bells also announce the elephant's approach. You never want an elephant to sneak up on you. Largest to smallest: 4.5" tall x 4" D; 3.5" tall x 3.25" D; 3" T x 3" D; 2.75" T x 2.75" D; 2.5" T x 2.5" D; 2.5" T x 2.25" D
